Cricket test match edition.

Got hold of an incomplete test match set, and as I have a box full of spares I was able to make it up into a complete set.
There are no breakages and there are batsmen with red caps and batsmen with blue caps, also there are two wicket keepers one with red cap and the other with blue. The other players are all neutral ie they have no caps, they all have brown hair though but rumour has it that their mothers were sports!! Spectators, groundsmen, roller and deckchairs are all complete. Even the wheels turn on the sight screens, is there no end to this excitement!!! There is even a score sheet book as well as the scoreboard.
I will be putting this set up for sale shortly along with a complete rugby set, Halifax and Bradford Northern.

Argentina versus Japan.

Why not thought I, Japan have not fared well yet so lets give them a try out.
First picture is position just after kick-off, Argentina managed a good attack from this and the result was a line-out deep in Japan's territory.
The line-out was good but the finishing was poor and a failed attempt at a try meant a 22 drop-out.
Japan came back with a try and a conversion.  Japan 7 Argentina 0.
Not to be outdone Argentina came back with a spirited attack resulting in a drop goal attempt that was successful.
Half-time score was Japan 7 Argentina 3.
Japan took the advantage quickly in the second half with this superb try, unfortunately the conversion attempt was missed; should have been an easy one!!
Play continued with both sides not getting the upper hand until Japan gave away a penalty that was neatly slotted over. However the counter attack resulted in a penalty to Japan that too was successful as in photo.
As the game came to finishing, Argentina went over for another try right under the posts. The conversion was good as shown by the video.
Not enough to win the game but a good match.
                Japan 15  Argentina  10.

More Cricket.

Trying to work out a way to play Subbuteo cricket solo without much success, so best thing is to practice the bowling!! This video should attempt to show the two methods of bowling.

Rugby World Cup.

Well seeing England played a dodgy opening game, I thought it would be a good idea to play them against the All Blacks! England opened the scoring with a try to the right of the posts, which was easily converted. The All blacks got a penalty just before half time making the score at half time England 7 Kiwis 3.
The second half opened with a  try and conversion from the Kiwis virtually from the kick-off
Half way through the second half England went over for another try, but failed to convert.
New Zealand got another penalty which was successful.
England scored a drop goal from a scrum, and in the last minutes of the game England managed another drop goal.
Final score. England 18  New Zealand 13.

  If only !!!!

Better late than never!!

Work just gets in the way of all the things you wish to do, but I did manage to get a league game in eventually. Unfortunately my digital camera went on the blink, so there are no pictures. For the record I played Batley Bulldogs against Bramley. A good game with plenty of close play and it looked as if Bramley were going to run away with it, but a spirited surge in the second half pipped it for Batley.
Bramley scored 1 try plus conversion, drop goal and a penalty all in the first half. Total 9 points.

Batley scored 2 tries 1 conversion and a drop goal in the last minute of the game. Total 10points.
